This captivating 5.24 carat cat's eye alexandrite chrysoberyl is exceptionally rare, as it exhibits two unusual and highly-valued phenomenal traits of chrysoberyl - chatoyancy and color-change! Its body color is even and well-saturated, with rich, blue green color under day/fluorescent light, and a dramatic, near complete color change to muted purple in incandescent light. The eye on this rare gem is a gorgeous, bright bluish white, straight, centered, and complete (visible from one end of the gem to the other). While fine non-alexandrite cat’s eye chrysoberyls often display a “milk and honey” effect, this teal and purple cat’s eye alexandrite exhibits a luscious “grape and blackberry” effect! The superior translucence and double cabochon cut add beautiful depth and dimension to the gem’s appearance. It is accompanied by Gemological Institute of America Report #2151151294 stating that it is a natural cat's eye alexandrite chrysoberyl. Measuring 11.08 x 8.04 x 6.45 millimeters, this is a stunning collector gemstone that would make a spectacular custom-designed ring or pendant. We can’t say enough about this phenomenal gem!
