Art Nouveau Large Gold Gemstone and Tortoise Mounted Hair Comb by Carter Gough
About the Item
Circa 1910 signed Carter Gough & Co. of Newark New Jersey, Exceptional Art Nouveau Hair Comb, Mounted on Tortoise the 14K Gold workmanship is heavily chased in a Floral Art Nouveau design. Centrally set with an Oval Citrine of approximately 3 carats and further set with Montana Sapphires and Natural Pearls. The condition of this piece is incredible considering its age and was most likely not worn very much over the years. This comes in a satin lined suede covered wood presentation box that dates from the 1950s or 1960s. The piece measures 4 1/8 inches in length X 3 1/4 inches. This is one of the best Hair combs we have owned over the years and we have had many.
