About the Item
Handmade, highly polished Quartz Nugget necklace in Autumn tones. These large free form nuggets, ave 20x18MM, are glowing shades of green, tan, bronze, and clear Quartz. They are enhanced with bronze tone Bali beads and smoky quartz. Smoky Quartz is a variant of the Quartz mineral family which ranges in color from a light gray to darker gray/brown/black and can be transparent to barely translucent. It is the national gem of Scotland, and sacred to the Druids in Celtic cultures. Hecate, the ancient Greek goddess was also associated with Smoky Quartz. Smoky Quartz is thought to help one become balanced and grounded especially with a chaotic life. This unique 17 inch necklace is secured with a hammered 14K vermeil hook and eye clasp. Wear this gorgeous necklace with all your fall tones.

Martha lived in Brazil for over 15 years and her travels have taken her to various mining regions within Brazil, South Africa, and the Far East to examine and handpick the gemstones for the Aria Collections. Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
