Classic Mid-20th Century Torsade Choker with Lapis, Turquoise and Gold Beads
About the Item
This Classic Mid-Century choker length torsade necklace is a true classic in style and in the materials used to fabricate it. Two 4.5mm, bright, natural turquoise strands are grouped with four 4mm, rich blue strands of lapis-lazuli. When worn as a torsade, the look is absolutely delightful. The 14k yellow gold end cap and clasp are opposing fluted shell pattern motifs. 14k gold roundels in groups of three are interspersed at approximately 1 1/2 inch intervals in each strand. The plunger clasp is accompanied by a figure eight safety catch which assures secure wear. The plunger is stamped 14k on the reverse. The gold beads have been tested to assure that they are 14k gold. Length when worn is approximately 16 to 18 inches depending on how tightly the torsade is twisted. Width of the torsade is approximately 1/2 to 5/8 inch, again, depending on how tightly the torsade is twisted. Gross weight 61.40 grams.
