About the Item
This gorgeous circa 1960s Hobé double strand beaded necklace features a pattern of orange translucent ringed beads, antique brass tone tube beads and baby blue Aurora Borealis Swarovski crystal rondelles. An extremely collectible piece of design history, this bracelet is stylistically relevant today as it was when it was first designed. The Hobé hallmark is signed on the hardware of each of the two connectors.
The necklace measures 20" in length, with an additional 2.5" extender so that you can adjust the necklace to your perfect personalized fit.
Hobé was founded by goldsmith Jacques Hobé in France in 1887. It was originally a fine jewelry line, with a costume jewelry division added in the 1920's by his son, William Hobé.
Hobé was hired by Ziegfeld Follies to design jewelry for their costumes and it is rumored that this is where the term "costume jewelry" originated. To this day, Hobe is one of the most coveted brands for vintage costume jewelry, with their beaded necklaces being one of their most sought after designs.
