Jadeite Necklace 25" Green, Red, Spectrum of Tones & Translucency Untreated
About the Item
This one-of-a-kind 25" necklace features alternating hand-carved and polished untreated jadeite jade beads. It's a portfolio of greens and reds. Some of the greens are dark and "imperial," while others are lighter and variegated. The reds perfectly compliment the greens; all warm reddish-orange or deep amber-red. Some red beads have dark yellow undersides. The beads graduate very slightly from approximately 4.46mm to 5.55mm.
The 14K white gold clasp is set with a 6mm round cabochon of red jade and there is a safety catch for extra peace of mind.
The beads are mottled but translucent, and to varying degrees. This quality mirrors the spectrum of reds and greens that compose the piece. There are knots between each bead and with beads of this scale, the quality of the stringing deeply matters. Here, each knot is crisp and defined.
This necklace has never been worn. The drape will improve as the knots relax.
Luminous, colorful, and just brilliantly original, this red and green jade bead necklace ships with a certificate from Mason Kay attesting to the fact that the jadeite is natural and untreated "A" jade.
