About the Item
We present to you our short 14.5" strand of lustrous Japanese Akoya cultured Pearls set with our beautifully detailed 18 karat gold clasp set with Diamonds and embellished with fine granulation.
This stunning clasp is designed to be seen! Worn with the clasp up front, it becomes the center jewel of the necklace. It's also stunning worn on the side or at the back of the neck with or without a pendant to compliment! Or wear it doubled at the wrist for a playful look. Pearls are a must have, a very versatile addition to your jewelry collection.
The white pearls are approximately 7mm rounds with lovely soft hints of pink hues.
The clasp is easy to put on or remove as it simply screws open or closed.

Unlike much “designer” jewelry made today, all jewelry work is done under Kent's direct supervision, with the majority of pieces made entirely by his hand. Beginning with the artist's vision and his sketch, every aspect of the work is done in his studio: alloying the metals, pouring ingots from molten gold, then rolling and drawing the sheet and wire stock used in fabrication, making of granules and small parts used to produce each of Kent's fabulously intricate pieces.
All work is handmade in the USA.

The Kent Raible's ‘Studio Collection’.........
Are works inspired by some of Kent's favorite one-of-a-kind pieces. They are created to be just as beautiful as his bespoke work, but by repeating the design, become more affordable.
An original piece is fabricated by the artist, and is then molded and cast in 18karat gold. The castings are then finished and granulated by hand. The assembly, stone setting, chain weaving, clasp mechanisms, and finish work are done by the artist himself, and his personally trained goldsmiths. Each limited edition piece, although beginning from the same mold is slightly different; varied stones, granule patterns and other touches make each piece unique.

Kent Raible is a celebrated master goldsmith and jewelry designer, who has been the recipient of national and international awards. His designs incorporate beautiful gemstones with gold granulation, an ancient technique popular in Byzantine and Etruscan jewelry. “My life’s path is that of the goldsmith, a path of over 44 years now! In the world of cultured Akoya pearls, 8mm is the delineating mark; 8mm and larger are considered "luxury" pearls because of the time and risk involved in culturing pearls this large. The longer a pearl stays in the water, the thicker the nacre but the greater the chances for malformation. With this strand, we have the ideal: uniform, round pearls with thick nacre, and gorgeous luminosity, but without the pits and surface imperfections, we often see in pearls of this size and vintage. The vast majority of Akoya pearls are 6mm and 7mm. All of these pearls are 8mm and well beyond. If the classic 16" length feels too short for you, it's easy for your jeweler to add a bit of length by having the pearls restrung with double knots and French wire. In this way, you can transform this into a 17" necklace. This necklace, created in the 1950s, features two strands of 75 top-quality cultured Akoya pearls in a near-ivory tone without any evidence of pinking, the dying process the vast majority of cultured Akoya pearls undergo to give them a light pink blush. These pearls lack that artificial tint. The clasp is measures 23mm x 19.47 and was hand-fabricated. The clasp is formed into the shape of a flower with six small, full-cut diamonds prong-set in the center Interestingly, the diamonds are of far better quality than such small stones on a necklace clasp need to be. They are near-colorless (G-I) and clean (VS2). Together they weigh .25 carats. The clasp is unmarked but tests as 14K. This is the ultimate classic double-strand cultured Akoya necklace...Category
