About the Item
This is a magnificent 33.5 inch long Cultured Pearl Necklace with 6.5mm white pearls of great beauty from the Estate of Ambassador and Mrs. Evan G. Galbraith. The stunning pearl necklace is a fabulous long length. The pearls have a wonderful Retro Hollywood Regency style clasp in 14 Karat Gold which is further adorned with pearls. The pearls are a fabulous length to be worn long at a glamorous affair, or twice around the neck as an everyday jewel. The pearls from the estate of Ambassador Galbraith have been worn in the salons of Paris as well as at state events around the world. Mrs. Galbraith's style was legendary and her jewels reflect the elegance and style that she exemplified.
PROVENANCE
The necklace is from the estate of Ambassador and Mrs. Evan G. Galbraith. Evan Galbraith was the United States Ambassador to France from 1981 to 1985 and the Secretary of Defense Representative to Europe and NATO from 2002 to 2007. Ambassador Galbraith and Marie "Bootsie" Rockwell were married in 1964.
