1920s Art Deco Silver, Paste and Faux Pearl Vintage Tassel Necklace
About the Item
This exceptionally rare and shimmering necklace was created in the 1930s. It was most likely made in France.
Condition Report:
Good - There is some loss of coating to some of the faux pearls. In some places, this has resulted in a darkening to the surface of the pearls. This does not detract from the rarity and wearability of the piece, especially as the darkening makes the pearls look like grey or black pearls rather than obviously flawed.
The Details...
Although un-hallmarked, this necklace tests as being made from silver. It is a bolo style design featuring decorative tassels. The oval ‘bolo’ and tassels are set with round, colourless and square cut, blue paste stones. All of the pastes are present and bright. The chain of the necklace is a cable chain and is detailed at intervals with faux pearls. The necklace fastens with a bolt ring. The length of the necklace is 37cm and the drop of the bolo and tassels is 11cm.
