Antique Diamond Basse Taille Enamel and Gold Cross
About the Item
Basse taille is an enameling technique that was perfected in France in the Renaissance Period. The technique involves hand engraving the piece and then applying translucent enamel in the engraved channels to give the finished piece more life and artistic quality to the finished piece. This cross is a true work of art and is similar to pieces made by Boucheron, Paris in the late 19th century. Height: 3 1/2 inches. Width: 2 1/8 Inches
