About the Item
An Edwardian period amethyst, and demantoid garnet lavalier necklace in 15 karat gold. Crafted in England at the turn of the 20th century, this beautiful piece of jewelry also holds an important meaning. Used together, the colors of the purple amethyst, and green demantoid garnet were symbolic of the suffragette movement.
This beautiful necklace features elaborate wire filigree work throughout, along with cannetille decoration work. Set throughout the necklace are seven amethyst of a combined 14 carats, and nine demantoid garnets.
Hallmarked 15 Carat.
