Being offered are a circa 1950 sterling silver and enamel necklace and earrings by Margot de Taxco, of Mexico, featuring a geometric design in brilliant reddish rust colored enamel with black and white accents. Necklace has a mail type chain with spade type closure which is in good working order. Necklace measures approximately 14 inches and the links measure 1 inch by 2 inches. The earrings measure 3/4 by 1 1/2 inches and have spring loaded clips. In excellent condition (no enamel losses and no repairs. Markings are the circular Margo de Taxco marking plus the eagle 16 mark. See pages 205 -207 in Hougart's book of Mexican silver marks. There are also style numbers. The pieces are dated 1948 -1978. Weight is 2.6 oz or 74 gr for the necklace and 0.6 oz or 17 gr for the earrings.
