About the Item

A Love Affair takes place in the glistening desert of Las Vegas, a city that is more than just a strip. The Glistening Desert Necklace acknowledges the people, history, and surrounding landscape that comprise much of its often hidden beauty. The sand-like colors of the sunburst agate portray the canyon and deserts, while the stones represent the soft and rugged duality of its terrain. The “in love” back clasp signifies both the romantic essence of the relationship and the importance of its history. Genuine white sapphires add extra dazzle. The letters are inspired by the cursive lettering of the neon sign designed by Betty Willis for the Moulin Rouge Hotel in the early 1950’s. This sign currently belongs is in the Neon Museum’s collection, a nonprofit that’s committed to collecting, preserving, preserving, studying, and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs for educational and cultural enrichment. To help with this mission, 10% of the net profit from each necklace sold will go toward this organization. Like all necklaces in the “A Love Affair” Collection, The Glistening Desert Necklace is reversible.
