About the Item

May I present The Octopus -- of one Nature's most underestimated creatures? Here, for you alone, in a Suite of three harmonizing jewelry treasures, and the only such Suite in the World. The harmony and individuality of these pieces reflects that each octopus in Nature has its own distinctive personality: some curious, some shy; some playful, some aloof. I decided to create all the the octopus in the Suite in a unique, stylized shape, hand textured in bright 18k yellow gold. Each was cast and finished entirely by hand. I chose oval blue cabochon sapphires for the eyes in the necklace. For the earrings, oval faceted white diamond eyes, and tentacles embellished with faceted white diamonds were used. I selected and matched these oval gems to echo the shape of the octopus head. The Brooch --"Three Friends" -- was exciting for me to create, design and fabricate! I tried many different combinations of sizes of octopus and mermaids before developing the concept of three friends, living in the vast ocean together. Here they pose for an undersea photograph! The two Mermaids were individually cast from platinum, cleaned and polished and set with white diamond eyes. Their large friend, whom I think of as the leader of your Suite of octopus, was cast in 18k yellow gold. Wear these creations with delight! One or two at a time -- or all three together!
