Rare 1930s Elisabeth Treskow Moonstone Gold Necklace
About the Item
A very chic moonstone and gold necklace by Elisabeth Treskow. The necklace has granular gold carvings around the moonstones in the center, which was one of Treskow's creations and characertistics of her jewellery that she individually created for her clients.
The necklace has a length of 40 cm and is ideal for daily graceful wear or with an evening dress that requires artistic gold jewellery.
About Elisabeth Treskow
Elisabeth Treskow is one of the pioneers as a professional goldsmith of the early 20th Century in Germany - especially as a woman she was one of the first to mark her name in the field. She was fascinated by the Etruscan art of granulation and after many years of experimenting applied this technique to her jewellery creations, which was sought after by her clients and followers. Elisabeth Treskow is also known for restoring the shrine of the Three Kings of Cologne in the Cathedral of Cologne and creating the German Football League champions bowl, both which are used today. Her work is still held in multiple museums and collections, such as the Art Museum in Hamburg, Victoria and Albert Museum in London or Jewellery Museum in Pforzheim.
