The epitome of femininity and vibrancy, pink sapphires are stunning gemstones with appealing color and inherent excellent light reflection that range from light to dark pink. With so many beautiful examples to admire in this charming necklace, how could you resist the allure? The Adamas Pink Sapphire Diamond Necklace is made in Italy in the 21st century, circa 2010s, crafted in 18K white gold and features pink sapphires in multiple cuts and colors weighing an estimated total of 13.16 carats, alongside white diamonds, both round brilliant and pavé, weighing an estimated total of 0.37 carat.
Pink is one of the rarest sapphire colors, caused by trace elements of chromium inside the corundum crystal, the same which colors a ruby. All sapphires are a variety of the mineral corundum, an aluminum oxide, with a hardness of 9 out of 10 on the Mohs scale. Pink sapphires have exceptional brilliance, luster, and fire especially evident in the lighter shades such as the beautiful stones featured in the pendant. The four oval pink sapphires are the epitome of beauty, with the shape and cut showcasing their brilliance. The sapphire is formed with a hexagonal crystalline structure. This enables it to be cut into a variety of shapes that are durable even with regular wear.
The 15-inch long (38.1 cm) 18K white gold chain suspends 10 briolette pink sapphires alternating between light and dark pink, almost bordering on ruby red. The briolette cut is a three-dimensional faceted pear shape, and at this size, has a charm-like sculptural look. Briolette cuts are hung rather than set and therefore normally do not have a table facet like a pear-shape gemstone. Instead, their entire surface is cut in triangular facets which makes them sparkle beautifully in the light. If the pendant portrays a robust pink flower accented with diamonds for extra sparkle, the delicate briolette charms read like delicate petals blown in the gentle breeze.
Chain measures 15” in length. Necklace comprised of 0.37 carats of diamonds, 13.16 carats of pink sapphires. Overall weight approx. 5 grams, crafted in 18k white gold. Made in Italy and Signed Adamas; circa 2010. Retail price is $10,800.
