About
Black Pearl necklace shown is made of number of circular loops joined and composed into a necklace. It was a very labor intensive design because the tiny 1/8' dark fresh water round pearls made into loops and held together by 1/4"coin pearl also made into even smaller loops. The color of all the pearls is bluish grey and the necklace is closed by number of metal plated loops.This necklace could be worn as a lariat or doubled up.
Pearls are the only gems created by a living organism, -an oyster .Today, most pearls are grown on aquaculture farms.
S. Gottwald uses sculptural blister pearls in pendants, brooches and rings. For beaded necklaces, she combines sea and fresh water pearls of all colors with semi-precious stones or French Deco artifacts.
Each piece of S .Gottwald jewelry is one of a kind and hand made. Her designs are edgy and fashionable but with timeless appeal, due to best quality materials she chooses to work with.
