Antique Edwardian Diamond Necklace
About the Item
An authentic Edwardian diamond necklace with 45 carats + of antique diamonds.
The necklace was made by a skilled artisan who beautifully designed a tapestry motif on each necklace link.
The center stone is an old European cut diamond weighing 1.31 carats. We have estimated this stone to have a color grade of G/H and a clarity grade of VS.
When looking at the detail, amidst the smaller diamonds, there is hand-done filagree giving the piece a more delicate feel. The necklace has 50 baguette diamonds weighing 6 carats total and 741 old European and single-cut diamonds weighing 39 carats total. The diamonds are G/H color with VS/SI clarity.
The center motif is the largest in size, measuring 1 7/8 inches long. Each link thereafter is slightly smaller than the one before., the smallest being 3/8 inch long.
The overall length of the necklace is 19 inches long.
The necklace is made of platinum. However, like most Edwardian pieces, it may be backed with gold to ensure sturdiness.
