About the Item

A fine and impressive vintage double strand cultured pearl necklace with an antique 2.01 carat opal and 0.78 carat diamond 18 ct white gold clasp; part of our diverse pearl jewelry collection. This impressive vintage double strand pearl necklace displays a total of one hundred and fourteen cultured pearls, individually knotted. This fine pearl necklace secures to the reverse with a high quality antique 18k white cluster clasp featuring a collet set opal to the centre of the rectangular frame, accented with an Old European cut diamond to each corner. To one side of the frame there is a single Old European cut diamond set in relief; the other side of this geometric setting features a reflecting diamond set to the push fit clasp The pearls are circa 1970, and the push fit clasp and diamonds circa 1920; amalgamating antique and vintage elements to produce single item of jewelry was common practice in the mid 1900's. This pearl necklace is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. The tongue of the clasp is struck with the maker's mark and the hallmark for 18k gold. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone. Condition This opal clasp pearl necklace is fine quality, set with impressive, well colour matched pearls and old cut diamonds, which display a fine white colour, brilliance and presence. The impressive opal displays a scintillating play of colour. The necklace is a very good gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.
