A rare and breath-taking vintage Eisenberg carved plaque necklace from the 1940s. Featuring a splendid five lustrous strands of graduated glass pearls. The crowning glory of this piece, an important and impactful art deco style carved carnelian stone plaque. The plaque also concealing the fastener. Eisenberg were one of America's premium costume jewellery companies, crafting jewels of exquisite design and materials since the 1930s, especially glass crystal pieces. Necklaces are a rare find and this one comprising pearls and carnelian proves an ultra rare archive gem from this prestigious house. The legendary American Couture Company Eisenberg was renowned for its use of Swarovski crystals, as well as superior craftsmanship and attention to detail. Not surprisingly then, Eisenberg & Sons was one of the most highly regarded costume jewellery manufacturers of the 20th Century. Eisenberg & Sons began in 1914 as a women’s couture clothing company. The jewels initially serving to further embellish Eisenberg Original clothing in the 1930s. When the jewels vanished from their clothing Eisenberg spotted a new market and so their jewellery line was born. Before long, their jewellery line became by far their most successful. Vintage Condition: Very good without damage or noteworthy wear. Remarkable given the age and materials.
