Victorian Garnet and Enamel Foxtail Fringe Pendant
About the Item
A fabulous garnet pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This eye-shaped pendant is crafted in 15kt yellow gold and is detailed with gorgeous hand-etched details and navy and white enamel. Resting in the center of the piece is a very large cabochon garnet, which is bezel set and surrounded by a gold rope wire border. Dangling from the base is a lovely foxtail fringe comprised of 17 chain tassels and spears, which hang from a hinged "V" shaped bar. At the top of the piece is a fluted bail decorated with fine beadwork accents. This wonderful piece makes a dramatic statement and would look beautiful worn on a favorite gold chain. It would make an impressive addition to any collection!
The pendant hangs approximately 3 1/2" long, is 1 3/8" at the widest point and has a depth of 3/4". The garnet measures 3/4" tall, a little more than 1/2" wide and has a depth of 3/8".
