This Fig drop pendant necklace is a beautiful piece of jewellery made of 18 karat rose gold, featuring a detachable cabochon amethyst gem drop that is open to the light. This collection was featured in Vogue UA.
The artist behind this unique design, Polya Medvedeva from Berlin, was inspired to create a jewellery collection featuring her favorite fruit after discovering fragrances with sweet and fresh notes of fig. The fig design of this pendant makes it a contemporary jewellery item, while the simplicity of the lines and the dark gem give it a slightly grungy feel.
Figs have played an important role in various mythologies and cultures, symbolising peace, fertility, generosity, and the richness of life. In fact, figs are often considered to be the equivalent of the forbidden apples from the Bible, with fig leaves being the only clothes for the first humans in the Garden of Eden.

Polya's pieces are featured in Vogue UA, Harper’s Bazaar UA, Another magazine UK, and other publications. One of Polya's notable admirers is the German actress Anne Ratte-Polle, who selected her jewelry to wear on the red carpet of the Berlinale Film Festival.
