Incredible 22-karat Spanish 2 Escudos treasure coin set in a polished 18 karat yellow gold bezel setting. The impressive coin was created during the 1600s with some details still visible! This pendant features a single Spanish 2 Escudos 22-karat gold treasure coin from the 1600s. It is set in a coin bezel pendant with four prongs on the front and back for a secure fit. The obverse of the coin features crowned arms. The coin's reverse side has a cross in quatrefoil in the inner circle. In the 1600s Spain was in its "Golden Age," which made them the critical suppliers of gold and silver coins. Unfortunately, many coins were lost at sea and on land during this time because of storms, pirates, and other unfortunate events. The Spanish gold coins were struck in 22-karat gold and came in 5 different denominations. This specific denomination is a 2 escudo known by pirates as "doubloons." The bezel pendant is 18 karat gold and has a large round bail. This listing is for the pendant only; no necklace or cord is included. However, the bail affixed to the top of the piece can fit various cords or chains. Interchange different chains for a unique look each time! Add this fantastic treasure to your very own collection! This pendant is in good estate condition and has been professionally cleaned and polished to look its best. There are some surface marks on the coin bezel.
