7.12 Carat Mexican Fire Opal Tweety Bird PT 900 Cocktail Pendant
About the Item
Our tweety bird pendant comprises a 7.12-carat orange opal decorated with a 0.21 carat, pear-shaped ruby and a 0.21-carat, oval-shaped amethyst, and white diamonds.
Opals are extremely rare specimens and are formed through the blend of water and silicon dioxide. They are formed in the cracks of rocks of the earth due to their amorphous nature.
Opals contain a colorless layer at the back of the stone. This colorless layer comprises silica sphere layers. The size of these structures has an impact on the reflection of light. When the size of the structures is larger, the color reflected is fiery orange in color - thereby giving orange opals the common name - Fire opal.
We garnished this beautiful orange opal with a stunning ruby and amethyst to make it look more vibrant and chirpy like the classic tweety bird.
