Antique 18K Gold Hand Engraved Graduated Link Garnet Snake Mourning Necklace

About the Item

Here we have an incredible antique necklace crafted in solid 18k yellow gold and features a magnificent snake necklace adorned with fine garnet stones. The snakes head is set at the center of the necklace with a puffed heart gently dangling from its mouth, all of which displays outstanding hand engraved details throughout. The center of the head as well as the heart are each set with an oval cabochon garnet while the eyes of the snake are neatly set with rose cut stones. These beautiful gemstones bring a super desirable look to this piece with their rich and deep red color. It is attached to a unique chain in which graduates in size and perfectly complements the snake design at the center. This choker style necklace lays elegantly and close to the neck measuring 14 inches in wearable length. The engraving on the back of this piece dates it back to the year 1895.
