About the Item
An antique brooch-pendant from the mid-19th century, set with 26 diamonds total 1,30ct in old Dutch rosette cuts.
Particularly fashionable in the mid-19th century in Europe, naturalism was manifested in jewelry by intricate reproduction of floral bouquets, twigs and leaves tied with ribbons and embedded with precious stones.
A beautiful example of this is this pendant with a brooch function. The filigree, hand-made gold form was an extraordinary challenge for goldsmiths.
