Diamond-Set Heart Pendant
About the Item
A Victorian diamond-set heart pendant, the pendant set throughout with old brilliant-cut diamonds graduating from the centre and estimated to weigh a total of 11 carats, grain set in silver to a gold mount with glass locket compartment to the reverse within an engraved frame and detachable brooch fitting, surmounted by diamond-set trefoil pendant loop, circa 1890, overall dimensions 3.3 x 3.5cm, gross weight 21.5 grams.
This important Victorian pendant comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This is a fabulous piece, set with 11 carats of scintillating, dazzling diamonds. This pendant would look striking on a gold chain or hung from a velvet ribbon in the Victorian style and worn with an evening dress of silk taffeta.
