About the Item
The Saint Christopher Pendant – designed and handmade by EMBLM Fine Jewelry
Medallions with images of Saint Christopher, the patron saint of travelers, have been worn since ancient times and are thought to protect and bring safe passage to the wearer. In the 1960's these symbolic pendants were revived and made iconic in California when members of the surf community began wearing them for protection.
As an homage to a more mythical interpretation of Saint Christopher's journey, we chose to depict him as the cynocephali, or dog-headed man. Our Saint Christopher pendant was designed by EMBLM and hand sculpted by our dear friend, Alrik Yuill, a notable visual artist and surfer.
Cast in solid 14k yellow gold, this pendant is only lightly polished, leaving the impression of the hand-carved design and the organic texture of the casting intact.

EMBLM Fine Jewelry
Founded in 2019 by Emily Landers-Sorensen and Mariko Enkoji-Busch, EMBLM was born out of a desire to create timeless, distinctive fine jewelry that can become treasured heirlooms with a personal significance to each individual wearer. The designs are at once iconic and intimate, drawing inspiration from various art forms and the natural world. With a commitment to ethical sourcing and practices, each piece is made-to-order in downtown Los Angeles by a gifted team of artisans. EMBLM was founded on the belief that we all have a shared responsibility to uplift and care for each other and our planet. We are committed to donating a portion of proceeds from select designs to various non-profit organizations. We have also established an Artist Partnership Collective – designed to promote creative collaboration between EMBLM and artists we admire. A portion of the profits from all collaborations are donated to an organization of the artist partner's choice.
