A very fine and highly attractive Art Deco period Gubelin diamond, platinum and enamel dragon pendant lapel watch. E. Gubelin, Lucerne Circa 1920 In Asian mythology, the dragon represents the principle of heaven, prestige and power. It is associated with the Chinese Imperial family. Some of the finest jewels of the Art Deco period were influenced by exotic Asian motifs which included mythical creature motifs, symmetry and balance.
