GIA certified carved, unheated Sri Lankan Sapphire pendant.
It is seldom if ever, that one would find a carved and unheated Sri Lankan sapphire placed on a pendant.
A definite conversation piece to wear. You are sure to be asked what the stone is.
Consisting of an approximately 12 mm round stone in a flower and petal motif, these carving styles have been carried down from generation to generation and were most popular in the Mughal era of India when Kings and Princes ruled all the states.
This stone is actually carved from an artisan in the 1950's and has lain idle since then, looking for its rightful owner.
Therefore, the first purchaser shall truly be the rightful owner of a part of history.
The sapphire weights 10.12 cts surrounded by 34 diamonds of VS quality and G/H color weighing a total of 0.20 cts.
1.73 grams of 18 K white gold have been used in the pendant. The chain itself is 18 K white gold too, weighing 1.40 grams.
