About the Item
This is an extraordinary antique Enamel 18 Karat Gold Pendant or Brooch with a stunning hand painted image of two Goddess figures with a Cherub or Angel. The neo-classical pendant is in the Etruscan Revival style with exquisite gold work and an open work raised border. The pendant dates to the 19th Century. The hand painted enamel image of the classical Goddess women with the cherub or angel between them is beautifully painted with the figures in cream colored robes with pink and black accents defining the details of the image against a perfect Robin's Egg Blue background. The colors of the cream, pink and blue are absolutely gorgeous together and Robin's Egg Blue is the divine touch that is so highly coveted. The painting is the work of a master artisan during the middle of the 19th Century. The pendant is a museum quality jewel. The enamel work is of the very highest quality with stunning details within the faces of the figures, the wings of the angel, the beautiful diaphanous robes and the sensual bodies.
The pendant has a folding bale which can be folded down when worn as a brooch.
The pendant is 18 Karat Gold. The bale is 10 Karat Gold.
The pendant is 1 3/4 inches (45mm) long including bale.
The pendant is 1 1/2 inches (35mm) in diameter without the bale.
There is some lead solder on the pinstem.
