About the Item

Kent Raible's regal Rubellite Tourmaline Cross Pendant Enhancer with Pink Sapphire accents comes to us from his limited edition 'Studio Collection'. In keeping with the quote from the curator of the Smithsonian (see below) this iconic jewelry designer has created a cross fit for royalty of old! Each gem is surrounded with intricate detailing and fine granulation creating a shimmering effect with an elegant and regal voice. The bale, which opens has that classic Raible detailing of an elegant shape created by the added curve of the edges and his trademark, fine granulation. The opening bale has Raible's signature double safety. First the bale snaps shut securely, then a safety eight clips over the closed bale for added security. A magnificent composition with a reverence of the spiritual side of humanity shines through. 1.07ct Rubellite Tourmaline (6.5mm round) .55ct total weight Pink Sapphire (3mm rounds) 6.9 grams 18 karat gold Fits chains with maximum thickness of 7.45 mm. Hand woven chain sold separately. ** Please note, the pendant shown on the model is the same pendant body, but has a central gemstone of Pink Sapphire rather than the Rubellite Tourmaline shown here. This image is included only to give you an idea of the size and look of the pendant. The Kent Raible's ‘Studio Collection’......... Are works inspired by some of Kent's favorite one-of-a-kind pieces. They are created to be just as beautiful as his bespoke work, but by repeating the design, become more affordable. An original piece is fabricated by the artist, and is then molded and cast in 18karat gold. The castings are then finished and granulated by hand. The assembly, stone setting, chain weaving, clasp mechanisms, and finish work are done by the artist himself, and his personally trained goldsmiths. Each limited edition piece, although beginning from the same mold is slightly different; varied stones, granule patterns and other touches make each piece unique. Kent Raible and his jewelry.... Unlike much “designer” jewelry made today, all jewelry work is done under Kent's direct supervision, with the majority of pieces made entirely by his hand. Beginning with the artist's vision and his sketch, every aspect of the work is done in his studio: alloying the metals, pouring ingots from molten gold, then rolling and drawing the sheet and wire stock used in fabrication, making of granules and small parts used to produce each of Kent's fabulously intricate pieces.
