About the Item
Portman Gallery is proud to offer this unique, fully documented Louise Nevelson work, a small sculpture pendant necklace of latex-painted wood, highlighted in brass, made in the 1980’s.
Condition: very good, faint losses and unevenness to paint, this might be original as Nevelson’s jewelry works were never going for perfection.
A restoration of the sculpture would not be cost-prohibitive. I do not want to assume that this is what everyone wants, however. I happen to prefer the patina of the brass and the extremely slow deterioration of the material.
In the collection of this gallery since 2012.
Original provenance includes the estate of Nevelson.
