Platinum and Diamond 13.05Ct. Chatelaine Pendant Necklace
About the Item
The word chatelaine is derived from a word meaning the mistress of a castle, thus the person entrusted with the keys. During the 18th century, chatelaines were particularly popular. The finest were made of gold, the most luxurious were decorated with precious gems,especially diamonds.
Cellini presents this fine chatelaine.
The platinum shell motif is set with round brilliant diamonds. Ten tassels of bezel set diamonds give movement to this lovely piece. The shell is suspended from diamonds attached to a hinged diamond bale. The bale will fit nicely on a strand of beads or a chain. It can be attached to a diamond bar brooch.
