About vitreuos enamel: The inimitably luminous colours are literally created "in the fire": layer by layer, enamel is carefully fired in at 800 degrees Celsius. During guilloching, the finest wave patterns are engraved into the gold, creating a unique depth effect. Vitreous means made of glass: the ancient technique is almost forgotten today and Victor Mayer is perhaps the last manufactory to master it at the highest level. About akoya pearls: The akoya pearl is a saltwater cultured pearl from the akoya oyster (Pinctada fucata martensii).
