About the Item

A fine signed Navajo pendant for a necklace. In sterling silver. In a convex, tear drop form with etched designs & turquoise and coral inlay and an integral bail to the reverse. Struck with a D silversmith maker (possibly for D. Allison) and with the HMIJ (Hand Made Indian Jewelry) mark for the Ortega Shop. Simply a wonderful piece of Native American jewelry! Date: Mid-20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. There is some light edge wear, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age. Fineness: Unmarked for silver fineness. Likely sterling. Marks: HMIJ for the Gilbert Ortega Shop and a D (possilby for D. Allison). Measurements: Height: ca. 1 7/8 in. Width: ca. 1 1/2 in. Depth: ca. 1/2 in.
