Antique Empire Consulate Cut Steel Buckle Belt Or Hat Weath of Oars Wheat sheaf

About the Item

This beautifully executed buckle designed as a weath of oars was made in the late 18th-very early 19th century. During this period buckles were worn with clothes or hats. The buckle is made from finely facetted and polished steel rivets of different size. Each iron nail is individually rivetted onto the partially engraved steel base.
