A fine English Mid-Century ladies compact.
In sterling silver with a gold-topped border and lift tab.
By Garrard & Co.
With an engine turned exterior and gilt interior. Having a mirror to the interior lid and retaining its original powder screen.
Founded in 1722, Garrard was made the first ever Crown Jewelers for the English throne and held that distinction from 1843 - 2007. Garrard has also made jewelry for royalty and various world cup trophies. Truly one of England's foremost silver & jewelry makers.
Fully hallmarked for Garrard & Co, Birmingham, Sterling Silver, and 1955.

Overall Condition:
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
Although well cleaned, there is a very small amount of residual powder remaining. There are some very fine dents and indentions to the exterior (likely from being carried in a purse) that are visible only at certain angles. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
