Lovely gold band with the word MIZPAH in bold across the front. Beautiful hand engraved with a matt finish background & pretty carved border.
Mizpah is a Hebrew word that means ‘watchtower’ and is loosely interpreted as ‘May God watch over you’.
During the Victorian era, the practice of engraving rings and other types of jewellery with the word “MIZPAH” grew in popularity.
They were symbolic gestures, shared between two people - friends, lovers, betrothed or engaged, particularly given when one or other was deployed for war.
