About the Item
A stunning antique, Victorian era mourning ring.
A rich 18ct yellow gold band with cut out panel sides featuring finely plaited brown hair.
The gold band is engraved and terminates at the front with an elaborate buckle and belt design, this symbolises holding someone close and enhances the sentiment in this beautiful ring.
The engraving includes tiny little forget me not flowers adding further symbolism to this beautiful memorial piece.
An exceptionally well made ring, a real beauty with an unusual design.
It has a personal inscription engraved on the inner band, partly worn, initials M. E. W in fancy script can be seen.
Marks and era:
Unmarked, Victorian era c1880s, electronically tests as 18ct gold.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, minor light surface wear commensurate with age and use, some wear to the hairwork
