About the Item
A geometric squared ring designed by Dinh Van.
Very rare vintage piece with the French national patriotic colors, made in Paris, circa 1970’s. This ring was crafted in solid yellow gold of 18k, with the characteristic cushioned-type square shape of Dinh Van.
It is accented at top with a pave setting of 21 round brilliant cuts natural gemstones; 7 white colorless diamond, 7 vivid Burmese red rubies and 7 royal blue sapphires, with a total combined weight of 1.05 carats.
Have a total weight of 12.2 grams and the actual size is 7.75, sizeable. The top view measures are 8 mm by 20 mm.
Stamped, with French hallmarks; the eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of the 18kt, the maker's maitre cartouche JDV for Jean Dinh Van and signed, "DINH VAN 18 KT ".
Jean Dinh Van is a French designer that began is successful career in the 1960 designing for the French jewelry houses of Cartier and Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible. Dinh Van pieces are very fashionable, sophisticate and easy to wear, also can be displayed as a small toys, sculptures and "objects du Vertu".
