About the Item
This is a rare vintage Hans Hansen 14k gold modernist ring made in Denmark the 1970's. This beautiful kinetic ring has 3 center movable bars on an axis that rotate freely and it is marked with the HaH hallmark, 585 and Denmark. This ring fits an approximate size 8.5 and measures 18mm on the inside. The ring weighs approximately 13 grams and the moveable pieces are 1/2" tall.
Hans Hansen originally opened his goldsmith shop in Kolding, Denmark in 1906. In the beginning, the shop produced flatware, but in 1920, as they became more popular, they started to produce jewelry. In 1932, Hans Hansen asked his son Karl Gustav Hansen to start designing jewelry collections, and that is when the company really ramped up its production of jewelry. When his father died in 1940, Karl Gustav became artistic director.
