Antique Gold Ring Rose Diamonds Inscription Dated 1809 Rose Diamond Initials
About the Item
The octagonal ring features initials made out of silver and set with rose diamonds. The initials are underlaied with fabric and covered by the original bevelled glas in an octagonal gold mount. The gold mound is surrounded by a silver border set with rose diamonds. The ring shaft is DECORATED This French ring is inscribed with the date 4 Mai 1809 and the two names A de St Didier
L de ST Didier.
We are probably looking at a ring commemorating a wedding.
The outside of the shank shows an impressed French hallmark and a lozenge shaped poinçon de mâitre with the initials IP.
