Rare Georgian Garnet Crowned Double Heart Ring 1700s Gold Museum Quality
About the Item
This is a very early Georgian ring with flat cut Almandine Garnets set in a crowned double heart ring dating to the 1700s. A museum quality jewel from the collection of Edith Weber. The double heart motif symbolizes love and loyalty and was often used as a token of love and marriage. This is one of the earliest of such rings. The ring has two heart shaped flat cut Almandine garnets with a trio of round flat cut garnets set into the crown above the hearts. The gold is 10 Karat Gold. It is extremely rare to find these original very early rings. The jewel is worthy of the antique jewelry collections in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Provenance: From the collection of the legendary Edith Weber
Jewelry from Edith Weber was worn on the red carpets of the Academy Awards and graced many major national magazines. Her store at The Carlyle was described as a historical jewel box with esoteric jewelry spanning the centuries. Her son, Barry Weber said "we are fearless in our taste," always searching for the rare and beautiful.
The top of the ring is 10mm tall and 9mm wide.
The ring is a size 5.25 US (K UK), and can be easily resized if desired.
