About the Item

Antique early 1900's fanciest European cluster Ring featuring Silver on solid 14K Rose Gold with Diamonds and Rubies. Presumably German or French made, this ring was a part of 2nd World War trophies of a Red Army officer who fought his way from Russia to Berlin between 1941 - 1945. Doubled band with Crown with geometrically fine mosaic lace work decorated with 34 old diamond cut Diamonds and 26 calibre cut Rubies. Note that protective golden cage on the back side of the crown. All 34 diamonds of gradual diameters, 28 around the central stone and six stones on the shoulders. Larger diamond in the center is old European cut Ø 2.75 mm x 2 mm deep / 0.09 ct. Total weight of all diamonds : 1 ct. Measurements : Crown 21 mm x 12 mm x 6.5 mm deep. Size : Ø 6.75 US / 17.13 mm. Sizing is possible for additional payment. Weight: 5 grams Used but excellent condition. No deformations or repairs. Stones of the rings photographed alone may look a bit differently when on hand because your finger makes the back side of the stone closed and light no longer can go through and the color becomes different. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. It is often difficult or impossible to get an accurate characteristics of the weight , color and nature of inclusions without removing the stones from the settings to be weighed and examined and doing that may damage the piece.
