Edwardian 1.40ct Sapphire and Diamond Coronet Cluster Ring, c.1910s
About the Item
An impressive natural and unheated sapphire sits central to this Edwardian, coronet cluster ring. The deep blue sapphire is an old cut stone, weighing 1.40 carat. Rub over set into platinum claws, the central gem is surrounded by a sparkling cluster halo of old cut diamonds. These diamonds total to 0.55 carat and range in colour from G to H in colour and SI1 to SI2 in clarity. Holding the platinum set cluster is an intricately crafted basket of contrasting 18 carat yellow gold. This flows into a sturdy band of the same metal.
