1890 Victorian 18K Yellow Gold Sapphire and Diamond Ring
About the Item
This ring boasts a brilliant, deep blue natural colored sapphire at its center that is nearly one carat! The center stone is cushion cut and such a rich blue that even in the soft evening light, it boasts royal blue depth! The sapphire is surrounded by old mine-cut diamonds SI1 in clarity that is clean, white, and well-matched.
The brightness of the diamonds against the deep blue of the sapphire is a perfect example of the old style of chiaroscuro--the flawless contrast of dramatic lights against dramatic darks.
For such a big presence, this ring is fantastically wearable with a low profile that sits close to the hand and doesn't snag. This ring is gorgeous!
