1920s Art Deco Engagement Ring - Platinum, 18 Karat Yellow Gold, Blue Sapphire, Rose cut Diamonds Features .50 Carat Oval Old Cut Sapphire, Rose cut Diamonds, Platinum and 18K Yelliw Gold. The oval Blue Sapphire Center Stone is bezel set with a fine milgrain border. A second milgrain halo frames the center setting and forms the inner edge of the rings oval, outer frame. The outer frame is set with Rose cut Diamonds all the way around. The face of the ring resembles stylized, cut out, flower petals. Each petal is outlined with a fine milgrain border and center set with a Rose cut Diamond. The ring shoulders resemble a pair of tiny leaves reaching up toward the flower head. Each leaf has a milgrain border and is set with a Rose cut Diamond. A single Rose cut Diamond connects the leaf pairs with the ring shank. The profile of the ring shows a delicate filigree pattern. The face of the ring, the top of the shoulders and the top of the front half of the ring shank are crafted from Platinum. The back of the ring and shank are crafted from 18 Karat Yellow Gold. This Stunning, Elegant ring exemplifies the characteristic symmetrical and fluid design qualities particular to the Art Deco era.
