About the Item

A substantial old European cut diamond of 2.00 ct is the centre piece of this antique ring. Harmoniously and individually proportioned, the diamond shows splendid fire and brillance. Its delicate millegrain setting is designed to elegantly guard the diamond without distracting from the diamond itself. The ring shoulders are designed as geometrical elements flanking the central diamond, embodying the 1920s taste for cool elegance and graphic shapes. Each is composed of four millegrain-framed squares, each of which set with yet another small diamond to subtly catch the light. Typical of the era, the ring is crafted in platinum-on-gold, so that the front appears purely white while the shank itself is crafted from yellow gold. Despite the ring's seemingly simple geometrical composition, it offers countless details even at second and third glance: the details in the golden shank (only visible from the side), the millegrain structure and the uniqueness of the hand-cut historical diamonds all come together to form a one-of-a-kind piece.
