About the Item

Nothing was quite as fashionable as white jewels in the early years of the 20th century. Plentiful diamonds were first combined with silver, then with settings of gold topped with platinum, as massive platinum was still hard to work with and far more expensive than gold. Dating to circa 1920, the ring at hand is a typical jewel of the early 20th century and foreshadows the Art Déco style in its elegant and cool simplicity. The central diamond is individually proportioned and gleams in a white Wesselton hue. It weighs in at 1.50 ct and is accompanied by six smaller diamonds on the ring shoulders. Even though the ring is crafted from yellow gold, the settings of the diamonds are made of platinum whose light hue does not tint the stones, but lets them appear even brighter. As the central solitaire diamond is smoothly set without claws, the ring can be worn daily and poses no danger even to fragile garments. It is accompanied by the independent certificate of a renowned gemological institute.
